Snowflake Splendor Card Kit Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome back to the My Favorite Things October card kit countdown. For my card today I used the Layered Snowflake Die-namics to create a multi-coloured snowflakes that I adhered to a vellum window.

To create the window I diecut the white panel using the Square Peek-A-Boo Window Die-namics and then I die cut the panel with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics to give it a stitched edge. Once I completed the die cutting, I added foam adhesive to the back of the panel, added vellum directly behind the window and adhered it to a Grout Gray card base.

I created a layered snowflake with blue card stock and adhered it onto the vellum in the window using liquid adhesive. I added an aqua jewel to the center and stamped a sentiment directly under the window with Black Licorice Dye ink from the Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set.

Make sure to visit the MFT Blog for more ideas using this months kit. I'll be back tonight with another card for the release party.

Snowflake Splendor Card Kit Countdown

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the countdown to the MFT October card kit, Snowflake Splendor! This months kit is all about winter and snowflakes with lots of layers.

For my project today I created a trio of cards with the Layered Snowflake Die-namics from the kit and the Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics and created ornaments on my cards.

The Layered Snowflakes are so fun to create with because you can layer them in so many ways. I just cut out a bunch with 3 shades of blue card stock, and then I layered them together until I was happy with them.

I created ornaments with the tag die cut from Grout Gray card stock and then added the layered snowflakes on top. I added sequins and Nuvo Drops to the centers and added a die cut bow to the top. I layered the panels onto coloured card stock and added them to white card base.

You can see how I created these cards in today's episode of MFTv.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. See you tomorrow for more countdown fun. :)

My Favorite Things October Release Replay

Hello and welcome back. Today the My Favorite Things design team is revisting the October release and sharing some new projects using the newest release. I decided to create another winter scene using Copic markers, a stamped image and the techniques I've been learning in online classes.

I love experimenting and creating scenes but I really want to start incorporating the scenes into card designs with stamped images. For today's card I stamped the deer image and then I created the scene around it.

I stamped the deer with Black Licorice Hybrid ink and then I left it uncoloured while I worked on the scene. I created a wintery scene with birch trees and snow and when I was done I coloured in the deer imges to complete the scene.

Once I had everything coloured I cut die cut the scene with the largest A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 die and I added a sentiment that I had stamped on an Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strip banner.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using the October reease. Thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #353

Hello and welcome to this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I always love using an MFT sketch as a starting point on my projects... it takes a lot of the guess work out of the overall design and just let's me create.

I have been taking a lot of online Copic classes and really trying to learn how to use my markers to their full potential so I decided to create a card with a background scene created entirely with my markers. I was inspired by a card that Sandy Allnock created with an icy lake and decided to try and re-create the look on my card with the new Polar Pals stamp set.

I stamped my images onto a white piece of card stock and when I stamped the seal in the water, I removed some of the ink from the bottom of him before I stamped him so it looks like the lower half of his body is in the water. Once I had them stamped, I created the scene around them with my Copic markers and then I coloured in the seals last.

I don't love the blue colour that I used for the sky but I really like how the water in the icy lake turned out so I'm glad I tried it out. Next time I think I'll use deeper blues for the sky and make the water a little brighter.

Thanks for joining me for this week's sketch. Make sure to link up your card at the MFT challenge blog here for a chance to win a $50 GC to My Favorite Things!

My Favorite Things October Release Party!

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things October release party! Tonight we're celebrating the release of the new holiday products that we've been sharing all week - all of the new products are in the store and available for purchase! Yay!

For my card tonight I used the new Lip Balm Window & Frame Die-namics along with the previously released Essential Sentiment Rip Strip Die-namics to share how you can create a lip balm project and not have to completely take it apart to get the lip balm out.

I created a winter scene on the front of my card with the Polar Pals stamp set, the Icebergs Die-namics and a sentiment from the Sending Smooches stamp set, stamped onto a Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strip banner.

I diecut the Lip Balm Window from the snow area and adhered my Lip Balm pouch inside to hold my coordinating lip balm that I made with patterned paper.

To be able top easily get the lip balm out, I used the Essential Sentiment Rip Strips Die-namics and die cut it into the front of the card base before adhering my panel. Just make sure to die cut it directly under where the lip balm window is. I created a video sharing how I created this card and you can watch it HERE if you want to see how I put the card together.

This is a great way to use the new Lip Balm products on tags and cards and ensure that the project doesn't get wrecked when you're trying to remove the lip balm. :)

I really hope you enjoyed the release projects shared this week and are excited to start holiday crafting! I would love to know what your favourite products from the release are. Happy shopping! :)

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown - Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the My Favorite Things October release countdown. All of the new products we've been sharing this week will be available tonight at 9pm EST!

For my card today I used the Christmas Cocktails mini stamp set, which is actually a free with purchase set. It has some really fun cocktail glass images and I couldn't wait to ink it up!

I wanted to make the martini glass the focus of the card, so I stamped it onto white card stock with black ink and added a bit of colour to it with some watercolour. I stamped the sentiment from an older stamp set called Hand Lettered Holiday above the glass - I love how it looks like it's coming out of the glass with the jewel bubbles that I added.

I added the panel to some silver sparkle card stock and some Steel Grey card stock and then I added the finished panel to a Sno Cone card base. For some added interest on the card base, I stamped the same martini glass with the same ink colour for a tone-on-tone look.

Thanks so much for joining me for day 1 of the countdown. I'll see you tonight for the release party.

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things October release countdown. Today I have a couple of projects to share using products from the new release - it's another awesome day of products to share! :)

For my first card I used the new Handwritten Holiday stamp set (the sentiments in this set are gorgeous!) and I created a winter night scene to add the sentiment to.

I first stamped the deer image from the new Dashing Deer stamp set onto a panel of white card stock and then I built the scene around him using Copic markers. I have been taking a lot of online classes to improve my Copic colouring skills so I used what I've learned so far to create the night backdrop.

I created the moon first and then added the night sky around it. I then added trees and the snow detail on the ground and completed the scene by colouring in the deer and adding all of the snow detail with a white gel pen.

Once I had the scene complete, I added the sentiment right over the moon area using black ink and my Mini Misti stamping tool to ensure that I got a really bold, dark sentiment.

For my second project I used the new Cross-Stitch Tag die to create a few hand stitched tags and a card that looks like it was stitched but was actually done with pencil crayons.

These tags and card are a part of the free online release class that we offer each month so stay tuned to that tomorrow night for a full video and PDF download sharing how to create them. :)

Thank you so much for joining me for day 2 of the October release countdown. See you tomorrow for more countdown fun! :)

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome back to the My Favorite Things October release countdown. Today we're sharing projects created with the new Dashing Deer stamp set and the snow globe collection that was a part of the previous card kit.

For my cards today I used the new Dashing Deer stamp set and created two winter themed cards using the adorable deer images from this set.

For my first card, I created a winter scene using the Birch Trees dies and one of the deer images along with the cute bunny image from the stamp set.  I created the scene with an inked background, and then I added the birch trees and a snow hill that I die cut using the Stitched Snow Drift Die-namics.

For my second card, I used the other deer image and created a scene using the Starry Circle Die-namics.  I love creating a scene on a circle element.

I adhered the birch trees to the side of the scene and added the sentiment to the top right of the card stamped on a sentiment banner.

Thank you so much for joining me for day 3 of the countdown!
See you tomorrow for more countdown fun! :)

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown - Day 4

Hello and welcome back! It's day 4 of the My Favorite Things October release countdown, and this is probably my favourite day! I love the new products being revealed today, and I have a few projects to share.

For my first card, I used the new Birdie Brown stamp set called Happy Pawlidays and paired it with the Warm Holiday Wishes stamp from yesterday to create a one layer card.  I wanted to make it look like the puppy was leaning against the sentiment, so I stamped him first, masked it and then stamped the sentiment over top.

I coloured the pup with Copic markers to look my puppy Molly, and I gave her a green polka dot scarf and made all of the ornaments red. I added glitter to the ornaments with a clear glitter marker and then I diecut the panel with one of the new A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX dies.

I added the stamped panel to a red card stock mat, and then I adhered the whole panel to a card base that I had covered with grey and white striped patterned paper. I am all about stripes this release LOL! :)

For my next card I used the new Lip Balm Window & Frame Die-namics, the new Lip Balm Pouches and the Free with $60 this month - Let It Snowflake Too.

I am in LOVE with the lip balm products! They make it so easy to create customized gifts. For my first project, I created a card that had a Frozen lip balm in it. I used the silver sparkle snowflakes to give it a winter feel, and I added a sentiment from the Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set. Rather than say Let it Go, my card says Let it Snow. ;)

And for my last project today I used the new Tall Tag Duo dies along with the lip balm products to create a cute stocking stuffer.

I created a custom lip balm by adding patterned paper to it and then I created a tag that holds the lip balm. I added a sentiment from the new Sending Smooches stamp set and embellished it with a Christmas bear from the Bitty Bears stamps set.

Thank you so much for joining me for day 4 of the October release countdown! See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown - Day 5

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things October release countdown! This is my absolute favourite release month every single year. I love holiday crafting, and I am always so in love with the new products that MFT comes out with each year. This year might be my favourite EVER! :)

For my card today I used the new Polar Pals stamp set and Die-namics and created a holiday winter scene. These stamps don't have to be used for holiday cards, but I really wanted to Christmas it up LOL!

I stamped my seal and tree (coming in another stamp set soon!) onto white card stock and coloured them both in with Copic markers. I diecut the seal with the coordinating die and hand cut the tree, so it didn't have the white border.

I created the winter scene for my images with some distress inks and card stock panels diecut with the new A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics. I LOVE these dies and will never put them down haha!

I added the panels to a card base covered with a red and white striped patterned paper from the Birthday Blowout paper pad, and I added a sentiment that I stamped from the Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set. I finished the card with Ice Cube Jewels on the tree and a star embellishment I had in my stash.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the countdown. Make sure to visit the MFT blog for more ideas and more peeks at the new products!

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

Snow Globe Card Kit Release!

Hello and welcome back! We've been counting down to the release of the newest My Favorite Things card kit, Snow Globe and the wait is over! The full kit is available now at MFT Stamps!

For my card tonight, I decided not to create an actual dimensional snow globe, but to use just the shape and some inking for the background. I used the snowman image from the Scenic Snow Globe die set from the kit and created a snow couple. :)

I love that by just adding a bow and a little bit of pink, I was able to make a snow'wo'man to go along with the snowman. To create the snow globe sky in the background I die cut the snow globe from some masking paper, added the negative piece to my card stock panel and used an ink blending tool to add the blue ink.

I added a snow hill under the snowman and snow'wo'man and covered the entire thing with adhesive. I then added the Diamond Dust on top and pressed it into the adhesive to make my snow hill dimensional and sparkly.

I stamped the sentiment repeatedly under the image to mimic the song lyrics and then I adhered the completed panel to a top folding card base that I covered with black and white striped patterned paper.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using this months kit and don't forget to head over to the MFT shop to pick up your kit! :) Thanks for stopping by for the card kit release party!

My Favorite Things Card Kit Countdown Day 1

Hello and welcome back! I'm back today with another card as we count down to the newest card kit from My Favorite Things called Snow Globe. I had so much fun creating my cards with this kit and still have so many ideas for cards I want to make!

For today's card I created another snow-filled snow globe, but this time I added a snowman and a couple of trees to the inside. I love that there are so many options with the different scenes you can create.

I die cut the panel from white card stock with the rectangle from Blueprints 13, and then I cut the snow globe opening into the panel. I created a snowy scene with the snowman, trees and some snow hills and then I filled it with Diamond Dust before sealing it all inside my dome shaker pouch.

I added the bottom of the snow globe with Sno Cone card stock and stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice Dye ink. I completed the card by adding some clear sequins and adhering the finished panel to a Sno Cone card base.

Make sure to head over to the MFT Blog for more ideas using the kit and a chance to win some prizes! See you tonight for the release party! :)

My Favorite Things Snow Globe Card Kit!

Hello and welcome back! Today is the first day of the countdown for the My Favorite Things September card kit and I am so excited to share my cards with you over the next two days. I love holiday card making and this holiday themed kit is perfect for all kinds of winter and holiday card designs.

For my first card, I created a scenic snow globe card that extends right across the entire card front and not just inside the snow globe.

I created my snowy landscape so it would be continuous across the card both inside and outside of the snow globe. I'm sharing the creation of this card in today's episode of MFTv so make sure to check it out to see how easy it is to create this beautiful scene.

Make sure to check out the MFT blog for the full kit reveal and a ton of great card samples from the design team using this month's kit.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

My Favorite Things September Release Replay

Hello and welcome back. Today the MFT design team is sharing more projects using the awesome new September release products.

For my card today I used the Modern Trees stamp set and paired it with an older sentiment stamp set that I love and definitely don't use enough.

I stamped the trunk of my tree with Versamark ink onto watercolour paper and then I heat embossed it with Ranger Brick embossing powder. I love how realistic this embossing powder makes the wood on the tree look.

I then stamped the tree top with Distress inks and added some water to the stamped images with a wet paintbrush. I did the multi coloured stamping by adding a little of each ink colour to the stamp before stamping it.

I stamped the sentiment in black under the tree and covered it with clear embossing powder for some added shine. I added a bit of blue colour behind the tree and then I finished the card with some yellow sequins and gold stickles.

You can see what the rest of the team created by visiting the MFT blog here. Thanks so much for stopping by today! :)

My Favorite Things September Release Party!

Hello and welcome back! It's time to shop for the new September release products at My Favorite Things! All of the new products are now available at MFT Stamps and there are so many fun new stamps and dies!

For the release party I created 3 very bright cards with some really great sentiments from the new All Smiles stamp set and the Double the Smiles Die-namics.

I created all of these stenciled backgrounds on the weekend with the intention of adding the smile sentiments to them in different ways. I stamped the word smile all over the brick background, keeping the stamping on each brick and trying to create a graffiti look to it. I adhered it to a white card stock mat and then added it to a black card base.

For the scallop background I stamped my sentiment onto black card stock with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then trimmed it down and adhered it the card before adhering the entire panel to a white card base.

I kept the Framework background super simple and just added the big die cut smile word right to the center. I completed all of them by adding Ice Cube Jewels to the card fronts in a random formation.

Make sure to head over to the MFT Stamps blog for more ideas and a chance to win some new release giveaways! Happy shopping! :-)

My Favorite Things September Release Countdown - Day 2

Hello and welcome back. It's day 2 of the My Favorite Things September release countdown and today I have two cards to share using the new Modern Trees stamp set. I love this set because there are so many fun deisgns and techniques you can do with it since its a layering stamp set.

I created two cards showing the four seasons on each of the cards using two different designs and two different inking techniques.

I used the Stitched Square STAX Die-namics on both of my cards to create individual sqaures for each of the seasons.  For the first card I stamped 4 trees changing the leaves for the seasons and on the second card I stamped the tree once in the center of 4 squares that had differnet ink colours to represent the seasons.

I created both of these cards for the September release class so stay tuned tomorrow night for a PDF download of the class along with a video sharing how I created both of my cards.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!  :-)

My Favorite Things September Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome back! It's day 3 of the countdown to the My Favorite Things September release and I have a few cards to share that use one of my favourite releases from this month, the Blessing and Blessed Die-namics.

I used a couple of older backgrounds (Wavy Coloring Book and Garden Flourish) and heat embossed them onto a white card stock panel with white embossing powder. I then added Distress inks using one of my favourite holiday colour combinations - Peacock Feathers, Festive Berries and Lucky Clover.

I created four backgrounds, and added the same ink colours to all four. I then added some water to give them a distressd look before trimming them down and adding them to a white card base. I stamped the Christmas part of the sentiment using a stamp from the new Bitty Bears stamp set onto black card stock and embossed it with white embossing powder.

I diecut the word 'blessings' from white card stock 4 times and adhered them all to vellum. I then carefully cut around the vellum to leave a border around the word and then I adhered the sentiments to the card design to complete them.

I created these cards for tomorrowa episode of MFTv so stay tuned to the MFT YouTube channel if you want to see them created from start to finish. :-)

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

My Favorite Things September Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the countdown to My Favorite Things September Release. There are so many fall themed products this month, beautiful scripty words and the most adorable bitty bears ever from Birdie Brown. :-)

For today's card, I used the new Bitty Bears stamp set (and coordinating Die-namics) and created a rainbow themed card with a bunch of the same bear image holding a balloon.

I stamped all of the bears onto white card stock and coloured them all in with Copic markers. I used the same grey colour for all of the bears and then I coloured their balloon for each colour of the rainbow.

Once I had everything coloured, I die cut them all with the coordinating dies and then I created the background panel for my card. To do that I cut a white panel from the Blueprints 13 die set and then I die cut the Stitched Rainbow right in the center. I left the rainbow inlaid in the background and adhered the whole panel to a Grout Gray card base.

I stamped the sentiment in the balloons that the bears are holding by stamping each word one at a time and then I adhered all of the bears to the card. I finished it by adding some clear sequins scattered on the card front.

You can see more ideas for the new September release products on the MFT blog here. See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

Thanks for stopping by!
