My Favorite Things | Creative Construction with Blueprints March 2017

Hello and welcome to this months Creative Construction with Blueprints challenge from My Favorite Things. This month we are creating with Blueprints dies that have an interactive element to them. I decided to use the Blueprints 28 set to create a gift card holder.

I normally shy away from bright yellows in my card designs... I always have a hard time making it work with the images, but I love yellow roses so I decide to go bright and cheerful with this card. ;) I diecut the panel piece from watercolour card stock, taped a border on the edges, stamped it with the Roses all Over stamp set and then I watercoloured it with yellows and greens for the leaves.

Once it was dry, I removed the tape from the edges and adhered the panel onto a Grout Gray card base with strong adhesive, making sure not to adhere down the middle area. I stamped a sentiment from the Lot's of Hugs stamp set onto the die cut banner and adhered it onto the card.

I added a gift card to the inside and finished the card with some clear sequins and gold stickles. It's definitely yellow and bright but I like the texture of the watercolor paper showing through onto the flowers.

My Favorite Things | Color Challenge #64

Hello! Today I have a card to share for the newest color challenge at the MFT challenge blog. Color Challenge #64 includes Lemon Chiffon, Blue Yonder, Gravel Gray and Black Licorice and as soon as I saw the colours, I knew I wanted to create a card featuring flowers with all of the colours combined.

I stamped all of the different stem images from the Beautiful Blooms stamp set using the blue, grey and yellow inks and then a I assembled them together on my card front so they would fit in the top of the vase opening. Before adhering them to my card panel, I added some brick detail with the Small English Brick stencil and I diecut the panel with a stitched rectangle die.

Once I had all of the flowers adhered, I added the vase (that I diecut from Gravel Gray cardstock) over top with foam adhesive and I added some shading underneath with a grey Copic marker.

I finished the card by stamping the two sentiments from the Label Maker Sentiments stamp set, cutting them out and adhering them to the front of the vase and then I added the finished panel to a Grout Gray card base.

You can see more cards created for the newest color challenge and play along at the MFT blog here.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Favorite Things February Card Kit Release!

Hello and welcome to the release of the newest card kit from My Favorite Things, called Beautiful Butterflies. This month's kit is absolutely gorgeous and includes two stamps sets, a die set, black embossing powder, a Versamark ink cube, two sheets of translucent vellum and a beautiful assortment of cardstock.

For my card today, I used the largest set of layering butterflies and created a unique design that only shows half of the butterflies bodies. I like how they kind of disappear off the side into the sparkle cardstock strip with the bold black and white pattern on the side.

I started with Limelight ink to stamp the bottom butterfly and then I stamped the next layer with Summer Splash and the final layer with Black Licorice ink. I used my Misti to do the stamping so I could just move the paper up and down but leave the placement the exact same against the side.

I added the stamped panel to a Grout Gray card base with the glitter and striped cardstocks and then I stamped the sentiment to the left of the butterflies with black ink. I finished the card with some clear sequins with Silver Stickles in the center.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see more ideas using this kit and don't forget to get yours now in the MFT online store!! ;)
