My Favorite Things Color Challenge #74

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the newest My Favorite Things Color Challenge. CC #74 features  Purple Rain, Green-Eyed Monster, Factory Green and Grout Gray

Normally I would never think to use these colours together, which is why I love the color challenges so much. They let me explore new colour palettes that I wouldn't have otherwise thought of!

For my card today I created a fun kitchen scene using the Kitschy Kitchen stamp set and the English Brick Wall Stencil for the background.

I stamped out all of the elements from the colours in this week's palette and then I created my little scene over the brick stenciled background. I stamped a sentiment onto a white banner strip in black ink and attached that right under my focal images.

I layered the the finished panel onto a piece of Green-Eyed Monster card stock and then adhered the entire thing onto a Grout Gray card base. I finished it off by adding some clear sequins scattered around the card front.

You can participate in the newest color challenge, by visiting the blog here and sharing a card you've created with this week's colours. I can't wait to see what everyone creates!

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch | #343

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the newest Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I love having a sketch to give me creative jump in a card design. It takes all the guesswork out of it and just lets me create!

For my card this week. I kept the general design of the sketch but rather than featuring an oval shape, I created a rainbow rectangle panel instead.

I created the inked panel with Distress inks and then I trimmed it down into a panel strip that I could position on the left of card front.

I die cut the large Hugs word and let the white of the card base show though. I completed the sentiment by stamping the secondary sentiment onto a black piece of card stock and white heat embossing it.

I finished the card by adding a strip of Black & White patterned paper and a strip of silver glitter card stock to the left of the rainbow panel. I also added some clear sequins for some added dimension.

Make sure to head over to the MFT Challenge blog to share your card based on this week's sketch!

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

All Smiles Card Kit Release!

Hello and welcome back! Tonight I have another card to share using the new All Smiles card kit from My Favorite Things that is officially available now in the MFT Stamps online store! This kit includes two full size stamp sets, 2 Die-namics sets,  and 13 sheets of card stock.

And in case you missed it, we also introduced an innovative way to line up flower stamps and dies. It's called Smart Align and its genius! You can see a video explaining how it works here: https://youtu.be/CC4tU4LeM74

For my card tonight, I decided to put down the flower stamps and focus on the All Smiles stamp set. I decided to create a really soft colour palette of greys and pinks and stamp the entire background with the scripty Smile word.

Once I had the entire background stamped, I added a strip of Insulation Pink card stock to the bottom left area of the card and added my sentiment on top. I stamped the top part and used the Smile dies to create the rest of the sentiment.

I love the soft colours but they are definitely out of my comfort zone. I find it much easier to create with bold, bright colours LOL! ;-)

Make sure to head over to the MFT Blog for more ideas using the All Smiles card kit and don't forget that it's now available while supplies last.

And if that's not all exciting enough, the annual MFT Retirement sale has officially started! You can find a ton of products that are officially retiring for a great price!! Happy shopping! ;-)

My Favorite Things All Smiles Card Kit Countdown

Hello and welcome back! Today we are sharing more cards using the new All Smiles card kit from My Favorite Things that will officially be available tonight at 9pm EST at mftstamps.com! :-)

I went super colourful with my card again and created a bright and cheerful stamped background. I love how great all of the flowers and leaves work together to fill an entire card panel.

I went with super bright colours and started my stamping in one corner of the panel and worked my way towards the other one. The key to stamping an entire background is to make sure that you don't end up with trapped white space, so starting from the corner helps with that.

When I was doing the stamping of the grey dots to fill up the space between the flowers, I accidentally added a line of ink to the panel with the side of my acrylic block that some of the ink had transferred onto. And I didn't realize it until it had happened like three times. So to make it look like it was intended, I added a bunch more ink lines to the entire background. :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by today. The new card kit will be available tonight at 9pm EST! See you then for the release! :-)

My Favorite Things All Smiles Card Kit!

Hello and welcome back! Today were kicking off the two day countdown to the release of the July card kit from My Favorite Things called All Smiles! This kit is so much fun and includes two stamp sets, two Die-namics sets and a bunch of beautiful card stock! :-)

For my card today I created a colourful stamped background with the sentiment in the middle. I was actually attempting to create a masked area in the center of the panel, but it didn't quite work out as planned. You can watch this week's MFTv video to see what happened with it. ;-)

I used a bunch of green and orange/coral inks to do all of the stamping and then I added the sentiment into the center. The sentiment was both stamped and die cut.

I layered the white sentiment panel onto a piece of Cement Gray card stock cut slightly larger and then adhered it direct to the stamped panel to complete the card.

You can see all of the details for this month's kit at the MFT Stamps blog here. See you tomorrow for more countdown fun! :-)

My Favorite Things July Blueprints Challenge

Hello and welcome back. Today we're sharing our projects for the newest Blueprints challenge and starting this month, we'd love it if you played along! The Blueprints challenge can now be found on the MFT challenge blog, and you could win a GC to the MFT online store for taking part. :-)

This months challenge is to use the Blueprints dies in creative ways to present a gift card to the recipient. I love making cards that have a hidden gift card element, so I was definitely up for the challenge!

I used the Blueprints 24 set and created the main panel on my card using the stitched rectangle die. I then created a hidden slot under the top panel with the waves, that I could slide the gift card into. The gift card is adhered on the smaller rectangle from the Blueprints set along with one of the mermaids to pull it up. :-)

I used the Interactive Labels stamp set to stamp the word pull on the tab so that the recipient knows to pull it up for a fun surprise. I decorated the rest of the front of the panel with more mermaids from the Mermazing stamp set.

I love creating interactive cards like this! :-)

Make sure to head over to the challenge blog so you can play along with this month's challenge! I can't wait to see what everyone creates!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite Things | Sketch Challenge #342

Hello and welcome back. Today I have a card to share for the newest sketch challenge at the MFT challenge blog. I love having a sketch as a starting point to create a card - it makes it easy to grab some supplies and create! :-)

For my card I used the Seaside Seagulls stamp set to create a fun water/sky scene that follows the basic design of the sketch.

Once I had the background scene created, I was easily able to add my cute littel birds and the rock and seaweed from the Mermazing stamp set.

I cut the stitched panel diagonally to recreate the design of the sketch and then I inked the top with the Mini Cloud Edges stencil to create the sky and I added Peacock Feathers Distress ink to the bottom to create the water.

I stamped the sentiment in the water with black ink and then I adhered all of the images to complete the panel. I finished to card by adhering the panel to a top foldng Grout Gray card base.

Make sure to head over to the challenge blog here to join in and create a card based on this weeks sketch. There is a weekly giveaway of $50 for those who take part! :-)

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

My Favorite Things July Release Replay

Hi everyone and welcome back. Today we are sharing more ideas using the new July release products from My Favorite Things. I love seeing what everyone is creating with the new stamps and dies and seeing what everyone is getting from the new release is so fun! :-)

I love mixing the new products with older stamps, so for today's card I used the new Happy Hippos stamp set and paired it with the Up in the Air stamp set to create a fun scene.

I stamped, coloured and die cut all of the differnet images for my scene from the two stamp sets, and then I created a background using the Stitched Basic Edges Die-namics and the new Mini Cloud Edges stencil.

Once I had the background created, I adhered all of the different elements. I wanted the hippo and bird to look like they were closer in the scene so I used smaller accent images for perspective.

Once I had everything adhered, I stamped the sentiment in the grass with black ink and added some clear sequins to the clouds. I also added some string detail to the hippo with a black pen to make it look like the balloons were tied around him.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas and cards using the new July release products. Thanks so much for stopping by today! :-)

My Favorite Things July Release!

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things July release party! All of the new products that we've been sharing this week are now available at MFT Stamps! I can't wait to see what's on everyone's must have list! :-)

For my card tonight, I decided to do a trio of cards featuring the You Trio Die-namics and the All About You stamp set. I love creating cards with text stamps... there are so many different designs you can create with a ton of different messages.

I created three differnet but similar designs using the same secondary stamped sentiment and the same die cut You sentiment. I just change dup how I positioned them on the card.

And honestly? Two of the cards were panels that I started to stamp to get the design in the middle and  messed up. I was going to toss them but then decided that I could salvage them and I turned them into cards. :-)

Here are all three cards that I ended up with:

I stayed consistent with the rest of my release cards and created rainbows out of the text. I am really loving rainbows right now (as if you couldn't tell LOL!) and I seem to want to create them on everything!

Have fun shopping tonight and make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more card ideas and a chance at some giveaways too! :-)

My Favorite Things July Release Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the July release countdown for My Favorite Things. All this week, we're sharing cards and projects using the new products that officially releases on July 11th at 9pm EST.

For my card today I used the new Celebrate Die-namics to create a simple watercolour card with the focus on the sentiment.

I created the watercolor background with a few different colours of Distress ink, water and a paint brush and I let it completely air dry before die cutting it with a stitched rectangle die from Blueprints 13.

While it was drying I die cut the Celebrate word three times from white card stock and layered them on top of one another for dimension. I adhered it to the watercolor panel and then I adhered the entire thing to a Grout Gray card base.

I covered the finished die cut word with glitter using my clear Wink of Stella glitter pen and then I added Glossy Accents over the entire word to give it a glossy dimensional finish. :-)

Make sure to head over to the MFT Stamps blog for more ideas using the new products from the design team. See you tonight for the release! :-)

My Favorite Things July Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the July release countdown for My Favorite Things. All this week, we're sharing cards and projects using the new products that officially releases on July 11th at 9pm EST.

For my card today I used the new Jungle Gym stamp set and the new Mini Cloud Edges Stencil to create a fun and colourful scene in the sky! :-)

This release has been all about rainbows for me and this card is no exception lol! I created the colourful rainbow cloud background by starting at the bottom of my panel with the new Mini Cloud Edges stencil and red ink and I worked my way up the panel going in rainbow order with my colours.

Once I had the background of colourful clouds created, I die cut the panel with the stitched rectangle from the Blueprints 13 die and I adhered it onto a top folding Grout Gray card base.

I stamped, coloured and die cut the awesome tree swing image from the new Jungle Gym stamp set and then I adhered to to a piece of vellum cut slightly smaller than the cloud panel before adding it to the card. I wanted to soften the clouds a bit in the background so the focal image wouldn't get lost in all that colour. ;-)

I decided to stamp the sentiment on the inside of the card since there is so much going on, on the front of the card.

Make sure to head over to the MFT Stamps blog for more ideas using the new products from the design team. See you tomorrow for more countdown fun.

My Favorite Things July Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the July release countdown for My Favorite Things. All this week, we're sharing cards and projects using the new products that officially releases on July 11th at 9pm EST.
For my card today I used the new Happy Birthday Circle Frame Die-namics and changed it up a bit by cutting it in half and just using one side of it for the sentiment on my card.

I created a colourful rainbow with the Stitched Rainbow Die-namics and Distress inks and then I layered the half circle piece on top to add the Happy Birthday greeting to the rainbow. I also added some Stiched Clouds at each end of the rainbow.

I created a cloud background with Peacock Feathers Distress ink and the new Mini Cloud Edges stencil and I diecut the panel with a stitched rectangle from the Blueprints 13 die-namics. I added the rainbow and clouds to the panel and then I adhered the whole thing to a Grout Gray card base.

For my card today I used the new Happy Hippos stamp set and the new Celebrate Speech Bubble die to create a card with a bold sentiment.

I added colour to the speech bubble die with three coloirs of Distress ink (Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers) and then I adhered it to a white card stock panel that I had die cut with the stitched rectangle die from Blueprints 13.

I stamped, coloured and die cut one of the hippos and one of the birds from the stamp set and adhered them down on the bottom right side of the card. I love the cute bird sitting on the hippos head! ;-)

I used the Circle Spinner Channels to create an arch between the two puppies so they could play catch with the tennis ball. :-)
